Ruiz/Key Family named as BIAK’s Volunteer of the Year & Recipient of the 2004 Community Health Volunteer Award

Community Health Charities of Kentucky which is made up of over twenty Kentucky health agencies, including the Brain Injury Association of Kentucky (BIAK) presented the state’s Community Health Volunteer Awards. Each volunteer of the year for each health agency was recognized during the Community Health Charities’ annual Leadership Awards Dinner on March 1, 2005 at the Olmsted in Louisville, Kentucky. In addition, this year’s recipient of the special “Community Health Leadership Award” was awarded to Douglas E. Shaw, past President of Jewish Hospital.

Monica & Mark Key as well as their daughter Nicole and her grandparents, Sonia & Ben Ruiz, made up the family group that received the Community Health Volunteer Award for “giving not only their time, their talents and their monetary resources but also for giving of their hearts” on behalf of the Brain Injury Association of Kentucky.
